Claude Cowork
What is Claude Cowork — and how CareMAR uses it for business
Claude Cowork is Anthropic's browser-based project workspace for non-engineers. Each project has its own system prompt, its own knowledge base of uploaded files, and its own conversation history. CareMAR uses Cowork as the runtime for every AI Employee in the catalog — fourteen persona-based projects that run weekly without a terminal, a developer, or a cron job. Below: what it is, how we set it up, and seven concrete use cases.
What Claude Cowork is
A persistent project workspace in the browser. You give it a system prompt that defines a role; you upload a knowledge base of files that role needs to read every time; you run conversations inside that project and they accumulate as context. It is the closest equivalent in AI to giving someone a desk, a filing cabinet, and a job description.
How CareMAR uses it
Every AI Employee in the CareMAR catalog corresponds to one Claude Cowork project. We do the setup once: write the system prompt, upload the knowledge base, define the weekly cadence, document the KPI. The customer logs into Cowork once a week, runs the recurring task, and gets the output. No code. No cron jobs. No infrastructure.
The setup itself is a deliverable. We hand off the configured project to the customer's Anthropic workspace; they own it from that moment on. We can optionally run and tune it weekly under a retainer, or hand off entirely and let the customer operate it.

Frequently asked questions
- What is Claude Cowork?
- Claude Cowork (formally Claude Projects) is Anthropic's browser-based workspace for running Claude inside a persistent project. Each project has its own system prompt, its own uploaded knowledge base of files, and its own conversation history that the model reads as context on every turn. It is the no-code runtime for AI Employees — you do not need a terminal or a developer to run one.
- Is Claude Cowork the same as Claude Code?
- No. Claude Code is the CLI for engineers — read and write files, run bash, invoke slash commands. Claude Cowork is the browser UI for non-engineers — persistent context, file uploads, conversation history. CareMAR uses Cowork to host AI Employees that run weekly and Claude Code to author the AI Skills that the employees invoke. They are complementary tools, not alternatives.
- How does CareMAR use Claude Cowork?
- Every AI Employee in the CareMAR catalog is a Claude Cowork project. We configure the system prompt, upload the knowledge base, set a weekly recurring task, and define the KPI the employee reports against. The customer logs into Cowork once a week, runs the project, and gets the output. The fourteen employees in the catalog map to fourteen Cowork projects.
- How is this better than just using ChatGPT or Claude.ai chat?
- Chat has no persistent project. Every conversation starts fresh; you re-upload the context every time; the model forgets the brand voice between sessions. A Cowork project remembers the system prompt, the brand voice, the customer roster, and the prior outputs forever. It is the difference between a contractor you re-onboard every Monday and one who already knows your business.
- Do I need an Anthropic Enterprise plan to use Cowork for business?
- Cowork is available on Claude Pro, Teams, and Enterprise tiers as of 2026. Teams ($30/user/month) is the typical entry point for small operators — it gets you usage suitable for running several AI Employees weekly. Enterprise is needed only if you handle PHI and require a signed BAA. CareMAR maps your projected usage to a plan during setup.
- Can I see what Cowork looks like before I commit?
- Yes. The hands-on seminars walk through a live Cowork project end to end — configure the system prompt, upload a knowledge base, run a weekly task, see the output. You leave with one working AI Employee in your own Cowork workspace. Book a discovery call to be matched to the right seminar.
